Derbyshire RFU News - April 2024

Our next meeting is the AGM and this year we’re visiting a new meeting venue – Buxton RUFC.

At this meeting we’ll be saying goodbye to Bob Curry who stayed on at the helm for another year due to unforeseen last-minute circumstance and welcoming Ian Roe as our new president.

We’ll also be looking to appoint our new Senior Vice-President who will support Ian in his duties.

We still have a few Clubs who’ve not paid this season’s membership – if you require details they can be obtained via the Secretary – [email protected].

The AGM will be aimed primarily at the basic functions of review and appointments however it also allows a great opportunity for networking.

As ever light refreshments will be available and weather permitting, we’ll be able to enjoy the networking on the veranda overlooking so of our great Derbyshire scenery.

Details and instructions to be circulated around 2 weeks prior to the meeting – these will include the opportunity to nominate individuals for available Union positions.

Are you interested in supporting grassroots rugby in Derbyshire? This could be your chance.

One final note it is Derbyshire’s turn to take on the Presidency of the NLD however our proposed nominee, Russ Boyack, is not currently in a position to accept this role so we’ll be looking at another member to rise to this challenge. But please keep Russ in your thoughts for a speedy recovery.

Finally, congratulations go to Amber Valley Tigers Ladies who have reached the Quarter Finals stage of the Papa John’s Women’s Junior Plate.
