As part of the new NLD MC Structure 2021-22 a number of new roles have arisen with opportunities for volunteers interested in contributing their time and skills to improving the way the NLDRFU works. The Management Committee of NLDRFU hopes to be able to recruit interested and talented volunteers to fill these roles.


NOTTINGHAM TRENT UNIVERSITY – VOLUNTEER RUGBY COACH

Nottingham Trent University are partnered with Nottingham RFC and currently have 6 teams in the BUCS league competition and a further 4 teams competing in the local Nottingham Universities league. NTU Rugby is run by its committee of students who are assisted by a Rugby Development Officer and Head of Rugby.

NTU Rugby seek to appoint several highly motivated volunteer assistant coaches to support training of teams 3 – 10 during the rugby season that begins in September through until March. The coaches will be required for 2 hours on a Monday and Friday evening sessions over a period of approximately 16 weeks. There is also the opportunity for coaches to be involved in matchdays on Wednesday afternoons, should they be available. There are many benefits to the role, not least a huge opportunity to learn and contribute to a truly unique rugby family. About the Club
Nottingham Trent University Rugby Club currently runs a program of rugby for 300 members consisting of 6 teams in the BUCS league and 4 further teams in the local Nottingham Universities league. NTU Rugby is run by a committee of students who are assisted by a Rugby Development Officer and Head of Rugby.

Role Description
• To support the delivery of weekly coaching sessions for a selected team/s within the rugby club as directed by the Rugby Development Officer.
• To utilise relevant coaching methodology to support the coaching of group tactical and technical principles.
• To assist with current structures to help identify playing talent within the club.
• To understand and apply the club ethos and policies to assist the club committee and management in maintaining squad discipline and NTU Rugby values both on and off the pitch.
• To raise the profile of rugby within the club and local community.
• To assist as required with information for an annual team and club review.

Desired Skills & Attributes
• Strong technical and tactical coaching knowledge and delivery.
• Ability to work within a dynamic environment and add value.
• Act as a good role model for players and instil NTU Rugby values.
• Be a self-starter, consistently displaying energetic and positive behaviour.
• Confident communicator.
