As part of the new NLD MC Structure 2021-22 a number of new roles have arisen with opportunities for volunteers interested in contributing their time and skills to improving the way the NLDRFU works. The Management Committee of NLDRFU hopes to be able to recruit interested and talented volunteers to fill these roles.


HEAD COACH AT KESTEVEN RFC

Purpose

The Club is seeking an outstanding Head Coach to oversee and deliver the coaching and ongoing strategic development of Men’s rugby at Kesteven.

Key Aspects of the Role

  1. To design, implement and develop a comprehensive programme to support all senior male players at the Club. This will include responsibility for coaching and management of all men’s teams (currently 1st and 2nd XV).
  2. Create a performance culture and implement high performance standards which are maintained and improved through the ongoing development, delivery and monitoring of all players and teams.
  3. Create and effective learning environment and engage and motivate players on and off the field.
  4. Create and implement a structure that will lead to success, including identifying assistant coaches, team managers, physios and any other support volunteers deemed necessary.
  5. Ensure all players receive clear, honest feedback and appraisal of their performance.
  6. Promote the club to potential players and help with recruitment initiative.

Is this role for you?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Head Coach who is passionate about developing players with a strong belief in the rugby values. You should have a good understanding of the challenges of the amateur game and the players that play it.

This is potentially a paid position, depending on experience.

2ND XV COACH AT WEST BRIDGFORD RFC

West Bridgford Rugby Club 2nd XV have been accepted in to the main RFU Leagues and are now looking for an ambitious Coach to work predominantly with the 2nd XV on match days. Their 1st XV will be playing at Level 5 in the season 2022/2023.

The successful applicant should be available on Saturdays throughout the season, have a love for rugby and the desire to join and add to the positive environment at the club.

This is a volunteer role, but we would be open to covering travel expenses for any applicants travelling from outside of Nottingham, and would happily support anyone wishing to work through coaching qualifications.

This is the ideal opportunity for a coach of any age, gender, and background looking to further develop their coaching and work with a successful coaching team and playing squad.

Rolls-Royce RFC is looking for a new head coach! We are looking for a passionate coach who can deliver safe, fun, and inspiring rugby training sessions!

Rolls-Royce RFC 1XV plays in Midlands 4 East (North). The 2XV has recently reformed and is looking to play regular friendlies next season. RRRFC also has a growing minis and juniors playing population.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the coaching team responsible for the adult playing squad
• Plan the coaching programme for the season.
• Plan, prepare and deliver coaching sessions for the adult playing squad.
• Select players for teams with the Club Captain.
• Lead the match day warm-up and manage substitutions during the match.
• Provide feedback to coaches, players and appropriate volunteers to enable them to develop and grow.

Coaching courses will be paid for by Rolls-Royce RFC if required.

HONORARY HEAD COACH, NLD U16’s

REPORTS TO: NLD Head of Representative Rugby

 

KEY RELATIONSHIPS: NLD U16/18 Team Managers; NLD U16 Coaching Team; Medical staff; CB U16 Management Teams; Leicester Tigers DPP Managers and Coaches of CB clubs.

 

NATURE & SCOPE OF JOB:

The post-holder will plan and deliver a coaching programme for the season to provide a positive and successful playing environment.

Provide high quality coaching to players and the coaching team to enable them to perform at their optimum level.

The post‐holder will hold the position for a term of 2 years (renewable) subject to annual review, with an optional 2-year term extension.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Ensure the NLD’s objectives for the NLD U16 Squad are achieved by leading the preparation of the team’s coaching programme to develop the skills and understanding of the players and coaches involved ensuring an effective transitional pathway to the next level.
  2. Ensure the players receive the highest quality coaching, development, and feedback, as the Head Coach manages and directs the management team to support the programme.
  3. Work in conjunction with the other Coaches the Team Manger and feed back into the DPP program as required to facilitate the selection of players from Constituent Bodies Clubs and those eligible to play having been based at a CB club.
  4. Evaluate all coaching sessions and games with the coaching team and players.
  5. Provide constructive feedback to players and coaches to enable them to continue with their development and personal goals.
  6. Ensure that the coaching and playing squad present themselves as ambassadors for the Constituent Body and act within accordance of the Core Values of the sport.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALITIES

  1. Hold a minimum RFU / UKCC Level 2 Coaching Qualification or its recognised equivalent.
  2. Articulates and delivers a clear player centred coaching philosophy that is in accordance with the objectives of the programme.
  3. Work effectively with other members of the NLD U16 Constituent Body Representative Management Teams and DPP staff towards effective transitional player pathways.
  4. Has experience of coaching players at club or representative levels and is able to produce an effective programme, including end of programme report writing.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:  The post holder is accountable to the NLD Head of Representative Rugby for the successful delivery of the responsibilities as outlined above.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS: NLD U18/U16 Coaching Team; Medical staff; Leicester Tigers DPP Management Team; Managers and Coaches of CB clubs.

NATURE & SCOPE OF JOB:

The post-holder will plan and deliver the representative programme for the season to provide a positive and successful playing and coaching environment.

The Team Manager/COS will lead the management and selection process and report directly to the Head of Representative Rugby.

The post‐holder will hold the position for a term of 2 years (renewable) subject to annual review, with an optional 2-year term extension.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensure the effective management of the representative programme. To include all formal player notifications and arrangements for trials and matches, including DPP liaisons.
  2. The Manager will act as Chair of Selectors (COS) and adjudicate on any selection disputes within the team.
  3. Ensure that all players are afforded an equal opportunity to display their talents through participative squad and match selections and game time.
  4. Where required provide feedback to coaches, players and parents identifying player pathway opportunities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

  1. Leadership – The Chairman of Selectors sets an example and standards for the selection group. As such he/she will need to be able to mentor and develop the selectors and coaches to ensure that all involved maximise their potential.  He/she will have the ability to make difficult decisions about selection and grades for players.
  2. Delegation – The Chairman of Selectors needs to be able to delegate responsibility to his/her Selectors and Coaches to ensure that they feel valued, and their expertise is used effectively.
  3. Teamwork – The Chairman of Selectors needs to be able to work effectively with the selectors, coaches, team manager NLD committee and key stakeholders in the Leicester Tigers DPP program.
  4. Planning – The Chairman of Selectors is directly responsible for planning the selection process for the season.
  5. Rugby Knowledge – It is expected that the Chairman of Selectors will have the required level of knowledge to identify players capable of playing at the highest level.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:  The post holder is accountable to the NLD Head of Representative Rugby for the successful delivery of the responsibilities as outlined above.

NLD SENIOR COMPETITIONS COMMITTEE CHAIR & SECRETARY

The NLD Senior Competitions Committee manages all Senior Competition within the CB, providing and regulating a CB Competition as well as monitoring club involvement in RFU Leagues. Following a successful return to rugby, NLD is looking to recruit into two important roles to oversee the management and implementation of Competitions. Chair of the NLD Senior Competitions Committee

Overall purpose of role

The Chair will have overall responsibility for ensuring the effective organisation and management of the competitions structure within NLD in line with the terms of reference of the Senior Competitions Committee

Reporting to the NLD Head of Development, the Chair will provide leadership to the Competitions Committee and set the direction for Senior Competitions across NLD going forward.

Working closely with the Head of Development, the Chair will set up task and finish groups as required, for example to oversee the introduction of national changes to the structure of competitions.

The Chair will be an excellent communicator and will actively engage with member clubs to ensure two-way communication. The Chair will also be able to effectively manage all stakeholders and the various agendas

The Chair will ensure that the Committee works within the delegated budget

The successful candidate will

  • Have knowledge of workings of NLD as a Constituent Body and a comprehensive understanding of clubs across the Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire.
  • Be forward thinking, and able to plan long term
  • Be highly pro-active in identifying and engaging with internal and external stakeholders and have the ability to present to a range ofideas, including to the Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire & Derbyshire RFU Management Committee.
  • Be committed, and highly trustworthy, someone who demonstrates the values of the RFU and adopts a professional approach to the role.
  • Has the ability to actively listen to fellow volunteers and staff members, and the confidence to offer opinion in a clear and constructive way for the wider benefit of the CB.

The Secretary will also be the first point of contact for any queries

NOTTINGHAM TRENT UNIVERSITY – VOLUNTEER RUGBY COACH

Nottingham Trent University are partnered with Nottingham RFC and currently have 6 teams in the BUCS league competition and a further 4 teams competing in the local Nottingham Universities league. NTU Rugby is run by its committee of students who are assisted by a Rugby Development Officer and Head of Rugby.

NTU Rugby seek to appoint several highly motivated volunteer assistant coaches to support training of teams 3 – 10 during the rugby season that begins in September through until March. The coaches will be required for 2 hours on a Monday and Friday evening sessions over a period of approximately 16 weeks. There is also the opportunity for coaches to be involved in matchdays on Wednesday afternoons, should they be available. There are many benefits to the role, not least a huge opportunity to learn and contribute to a truly unique rugby family. About the Club
Nottingham Trent University Rugby Club currently runs a program of rugby for 300 members consisting of 6 teams in the BUCS league and 4 further teams in the local Nottingham Universities league. NTU Rugby is run by a committee of students who are assisted by a Rugby Development Officer and Head of Rugby.

Role Description
• To support the delivery of weekly coaching sessions for a selected team/s within the rugby club as directed by the Rugby Development Officer.
• To utilise relevant coaching methodology to support the coaching of group tactical and technical principles.
• To assist with current structures to help identify playing talent within the club.
• To understand and apply the club ethos and policies to assist the club committee and management in maintaining squad discipline and NTU Rugby values both on and off the pitch.
• To raise the profile of rugby within the club and local community.
• To assist as required with information for an annual team and club review.
