Club subs are now due – as agreed at the AGM an invoice will be sent to each Club even if you pay by Standing Order. Can you please watch out for it and pay promptly please to save us the chasing throughout the season. If you haven’t received yours, please let me know and I’ll get resent as it may be going to an out-of-date contact.

Ian Roe, our President, has started visiting Clubs so if you have a specific event to which you wish to invite him if you can email me, I’ll forward. Derbyshire v Derbyshire fixtures are a great opportunity for him to join you.

We have had one individual come forward to take the lead for representational rugby from a County perspective. However, if you’re interested, please let me know.

Derbyshire RFU News - May 2024

Buxton will be hosting the Barry Allen Memorial Finals Day for the North West Intermediate Rugby Union Leagues in which they paly on the 4th May.

A good Bank Holiday fix for all those involved in rugby. Lots to do for all ages.

The day starts at 10:00 with the first of 3 games kicking off at 12:00.

Derbyshire RFU News - April 2024

Our next meeting is the AGM and this year we’re visiting a new meeting venue – Buxton RUFC.

At this meeting we’ll be saying goodbye to Bob Curry who stayed on at the helm for another year due to unforeseen last-minute circumstance and welcoming Ian Roe as our new president.

We’ll also be looking to appoint our new Senior Vice-President who will support Ian in his duties.

We still have a few Clubs who’ve not paid this season’s membership – if you require details they can be obtained via the Secretary – [email protected].

The AGM will be aimed primarily at the basic functions of review and appointments however it also allows a great opportunity for networking.

As ever light refreshments will be available and weather permitting, we’ll be able to enjoy the networking on the veranda overlooking so of our great Derbyshire scenery.

Details and instructions to be circulated around 2 weeks prior to the meeting – these will include the opportunity to nominate individuals for available Union positions.

Are you interested in supporting grassroots rugby in Derbyshire? This could be your chance.

One final note it is Derbyshire’s turn to take on the Presidency of the NLD however our proposed nominee, Russ Boyack, is not currently in a position to accept this role so we’ll be looking at another member to rise to this challenge. But please keep Russ in your thoughts for a speedy recovery.

Finally, congratulations go to Amber Valley Tigers Ladies who have reached the Quarter Finals stage of the Papa John’s Women’s Junior Plate.
