Disciplinary Team Update – April 24

The Disciplinary team have submitted the following update…

Match Official Abuse

Unfortunately, Match Official Abuse still headlines reasons for individuals and Clubs appearing before the Disciplinary Panel though closely followed by punching / striking.

Other Disciplinary Points

Please be aware that whilst Age Grade and Colts players are handled by a different process, if the cited individual is an adult, e.g. a Coach, they will be heard by the full Panel. Similarly, if a Club is cited, using Regulation 5.12, then it will be handled by the Adult Panel.

At the same time, it should be remembered that if a Club is sanctioned and the sanction awarded is a points deduction, the deduction is against the 1st Team (which may not necessarily be the infringing Team).

Two other points to note.

  1. If there is a video of the game, which is usually noted by the Referee, then then it must be made available to all parties upon request; failure to supply has implications
  2. Regardless of the result of a Club’s disciplinary process, an individual player is automatically suspended and remains so until notified by the NLD Disciplinary Secretary; if a ban is issued there will be a return to play date issued which is not negotiable.
