October 2022 – O’Neills NLD Volunteer of the Month

Jim has been involved with Paviors RFC  for many years, managing and coaching his son’s group as he went from Mini’s Juniors and into the Academy, but that wasn’t his only involvement.

Jim also took on the the Safeguarding Lead role in the club, spending hours ensuring all coaches are DBS checked and working towards coaching qualifications, constantly ensuring up-to-date information is made available to all members of the club and enforcing the message that safeguarding is EVERYONE’S responsibility – coaches, officials, parents and children.

Jim lives and breathes his club and even though his son is now at University, he is still up on a Saturday to support the firsts and seconds players, and helping with events – often putting on his apron to help with meals and cleaning, as well on a Sunday morning with our youngsters making sure everyone is happy and that everyone is adhering to the values of rugby.

Top class man and definitely one of our many unsung heroes.
