RFU Injured Players Foundation Appoints Jackie Dyer
Our very own Jackie Dyer joins the RFU Injured Players Foundation…
The RFU Injured Players Foundation (IPF), England Rugby’s Official Charity, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jackie Dyer as a Trustee.
Jackie joins the Board of Trustees with a wealth of experience in the healthcare sector and public health as well as personal experience with people affected by spinal cord injury.
As an RFU Council member for the Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire RFU (NLD), representing member clubs at the highest volunteer committee, her connection to the Rugby Football Union (RFU) will also be essential as the Foundation continues to drive awareness across the game and build on its core relationships.
On her appointment Jackie commented: “I’m delighted to join the IPF’s Board as its newest Trustee. The charity delivers essential work to our rugby community and embodies what it means to enable our members to live the life they wish to lead.
“This appointment presents an opportunity to continue the great work that the charity is delivering but also explore how we can continually improve our offering to support injured players and their families for life.
“I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into my new role and continuing to make a difference to this incredible group of individuals.”
Jackie’s membership of the RFU Council and her active role within community rugby are critical to the aims of the IPF as it continues to strengthen its relationship with the national governing body following the departure of its previous Trustee and Chair, Stephen Pearson.
IPF Director, Dr Karen Hood added: “We’re very excited to welcome Jackie on board. Her appointment represents how we continuously ensure that our members and the wider rugby community are involved at all levels of our decision making so we can better serve our beneficiaries year on year.
“Jackie will bring further expertise to our panel of experienced individuals and an empathy for our members. She also brings deep rugby knowledge through her role on the RFU Council and her previous work as chair of Belper RFC, all of which will enable us to deliver our vision and keep supporting our injured players. I can’t wait to start working with her.”
