RFU Recognise Unsung Heros

NLD volunteers were in full force at the England v Scotland game in February…

Having been nominated by the NLD Management Committee, Syd and Beryl Harris from Mellish RFC were invited to attend the match and celebratory lunch to receive the RFU President’s Value the Volunteer Outstanding Contribution Award.

Syd and Beryl have both volunteered at Mellish RFC for over 40 years, between them covering most roles including player, coach, President, committee member, grounds maintenance, clubhouse management, running the kit shop, decorator, fundraisers and 100 club organisers.

As Unsung Heroes, it is great to see them rewarded for their invaluable and long contribution to grassroots rugby and their commitment to Mellish RFC and its members. Everyone at NLD sends their warmest congratulations and thanks to them both.
