NLD Conference Cup
Here is a summary from recent NLD Conference Cup matches…
Girls U16s NLD Conference Cup - Round 2
It was a cold, wet and drizzly afternoon in Chesterfield for round 2 of the U16 cup games.
Nine squads are represented in this age group (Paviors/Ashfield, All MACS, Newark, Gainsborough, Derbyshire Dragons, Kesboro, Long Eaton, Notts Casuals, and Mansfield) and all turned out to make the most of things. As there are so many teams, the game format for this age is 20 minutes games straight through, no stoppages and it was agreed no conversions to make the most use of the game time.
The weather slowly got worse through out the afternoon and after the first four rounds it was agreed to call it a day. All teams played at least two of their games, with a great spirit of endeavour and some good rugby on display.
Girls U18s NLD Conference Cup - Round 1
This weekend, Melbourne Rugby Club played host to Round 1 of the U18s County Cup! Despite some light rain and chilly conditions at the start, the girls showed up ready to give it their all. 👏
Teams Represented:
Pavarks
Kesborough
LE MACS
Mansfield
Casuals/Derbyshire Dragons
The day kicked off with two exciting matches:
🔹 Mansfield vs Casuals/Derbyshire Dragons
🔹 LE MACS vs Kesborough
The action continued in the second round:
🔹 Pavarks vs Kesborough
🔹 LE MACS vs Casuals/Derbyshire Dragons
Unfortunately, as the day progressed, the weather took a turn for the worse. Heavy rain, dropping temperatures, and deteriorating pitch conditions meant the final matches couldn’t go ahead. That said, the spirit and skill on the pitch were truly inspiring! Huge credit to the girls for braving the conditions and putting on a fantastic display of rugby.
Thank you to all the players, coaches, referees, and supporters who made the day memorable despite the weather challenges and to our photographer Jansen Brown Studios for the wonderful photographs – much love to him for standing out there in the freezing cold to capture our girls playing.
Girls U14s Conference Cup - Round 2
The Girls U14s County Cup – Round 2, held at Long Eaton Rugby Club, was a brilliant day brimming with enthusiasm and community spirit.
With plenty of girls taking part and smiles all round, the event was a true celebration of grassroots rugby. Eight fantastic teams – Loughborough, Newark, Long Steven, All MACS, Mansfield, Derbyshire Dragons, Notts Casuals, and Ashfield & Paviors – took to the field, displaying impressive skills and sportsmanship.
It was a cracking day out, leaving everyone feeling proud and chuffed to bits with the success of the event.
