Introduction to Refereeing Courses

Following a successful joint bid by NLD Referee’s Society and NLD, support has been given by the RFU Initiative Fund to support a series of Introduction to Refereeing courses.

All NLD clubs have been invited to express interest in joining the courses, and already ~70 participants have benefited from registering for/attending courses, but we are pleased to confirm that there are still some places available for future courses.

The England Rugby Introduction to Refereeing award is the RFU’s introductory qualification into match officiating, giving participants the basics to safely facilitate and manage a game of Rugby Union, with a mix of face-to-face (3 hours) and e-learning (3 hours).

These courses are uniquely supplemented with additional workshops delivered by NLD Referee’s Society, making them a full-day event.

The courses are open to club members (14+ years old).

Sunday 26 January 2025 – Scunthorpe RUFC

Sunday 23 February 2025 – University of Nottingham

Sunday 30 March 2025 – Bourne RUFC
