Nottingham Moderns to Play at Twickenham

During the day the club get to play 20-minute games against 3 other teams who have also been successful in this competition. The format will be, where possible, 15 a side on the full pitch.

The Play Together Stay Together competition is a great way to reward those players who have transitioned to adult rugby recently and those older social players who have supported the younger players. The format will be focused purely on enjoyment. Although the games themselves will be competitive there won’t be any placings, cups etc. There will also be a focus on players or parents of players who have supported the club in a volunteer capacity.

There will be 25 – 30 players in the squad. Plus coaches and physios .The final selection of players has yet to be decided but the aim will be to provide as many as possible with the opportunity of playing. The 11 Colts who have played senior rugby this season will be included, a few father and son combinations plus 6 sets of brothers will all be a part of the selection process. The club will also reflect the diversity of its playing base and include students who have played a minimum of 30 games for the club over 3 seasons.

The team will use the England changing for one of the matches to either change and/or prepare for a match.

10 Coaches/club officials will accompany the team We are hoping that 100 supports will also make the trip. Transport is being subsidised by the RFU.
