NLD Women Win Gill Burns Cup

NLD W&G’s Representative Rugby Lead, Neil Clack reports:

“It took us 12 months but yesterday afternoon NLD Women went one better than last season and won their final against Devon in the Gill Burns tier 3 National Cup Competition 34-22 at Ealing Trailfinders. 12 months on and the experience of disappointment coupled with the dedication and planning from our coaching/management team and determination from the players led to our Senior Women bringing home the Gold.”

“The trophy, seen here being awarded to NLD Women Team Captain Hannah Dennis by Gill Burns, will be making it’s way around NLD clubs over the coming season before we have to hand it back.  List of clubs and dates to follow.

I want to say a massive thank you to ALL the players who played, not only in the Final but in the competition rounds and friendlies those who attended training, our coaches, led by Dan Edson, the Women’s Manager Sarah Driver who organised us so brilliantly throughout the competition and on the day, our physio Amy who repaired and patched up players along the way and to those who have supported us throughout, especially to our traveling supporters who made such a welcoming noise on the day; you sounded like the 500!!
