The Role:
The right coach will focus on inclusive rugby and developing all players to ensure the team can rebuild and progress from IWS to NC3.
We aspire to have a “one club” approach and aim to incorporate a club style and ethos of playing the game. We expect the ladies’ team to be role models for our youth players and strive to exhibit TREDS in everything they do.
The Ladies Head Coach will be responsible for coaching approximately 18 players currently playing in IWS fixtures. They will work alongside the Senior coaching staff and club coaching co-ordinator to ensure continuity and consistency in approach as well collaborating and providing a positive pathway for the U16 Girls to be ready for senior rugby in 18 – 24 month’s time.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver a minimum of one training session per week. (Usually Thursday Night)
- Managing a match day per week (usually but not exclusively Sunday pm).
- Planning and progressing for training sessions as well as matches.
- Understand and align relevant coaching methodology with clubs coaching staffs tactical and technical principles.
- Build positive relationships with all players
- Develop (in conjunction with Junior Girl Coach) and deliver an inclusive player development program for U16 Girls players who wish to transition into senior rugby with Gainsborough RUFC
- Deliver and attend coaching development sessions as required.
- To produce, in conjunction with the whole coaching group training plans tailored to progress the groups skillset
Desired Qualifications:
- RFU coaching award Level 2 or equivalent/aspiring to advance
- Ability to develop new and experienced players equally
- Regular attendee of England rugby CPD courses
- Excellent communication skills
Commitment:
- One training session per week
- Occasional coaching or committee meetings
- One match per 2 weeks
- Relevant preparation & planning for matches
