In addition to making plans for the six-week tournament, fans can now look forward to the Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour in the UK and Ireland including a visit to NLD on Sunday 9 August.  Launching on 10 June, marking exactly 100 days to go to the opening match, the trophy will travel through Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Wales and England counting down to the start of the tournament before arriving at Twickenham Stadium on 18 September ahead of the opening ceremony.

NLD are delighted to confirm the programme events for the Trophy’s visit and we hope that many of you will put the date in your diaries as we welcome rugby’s greatest prize, the Webb Ellis Cup.

Sunday 9 August 2015

9 – 11am                Lincoln RFC

The trophy starts its tour of NLD at Longdales Park, Lincoln RFC’s brilliant new facility in Nettleham.  There will be a Touch Rugby Festival involving players of all ages & sexes as well as a display of some of best young players within NLD as representative squads take to the field.

1 – 3pm                  Chatsworth House

On the south lawns of the magnificent Chatsworth House there will be a Mini Tag Festival involving Mini Rugby Players from clubs in the local area.  This will be a fantastic opportunity to inspire the future stars of the game in an iconic location.

5 – 7pm                  Nottingham Market Square

The Trophy’s route through NLD will conclude in Nottingham Market Square for a celebration of the game with Nottingham Rugby.

The Trophy’s Tour through NLD promises to be a fantastic showcase of the game that we love and we will be looking to involve players & officials from throughout three counties.  More information on the opportunity to get involved will be circulated in due course but in the meantime make sure you keep Sunday 9 August free as NLD help count down to the sporting event of the year!

At times, there may be a high demand for pictures with the Trophy. Please note that the Event Organiser reserves the right to close the queue before the times advertised on this website or to only allow group pictures with the Trophy. Please ensure that you arrive early to avoid disappointment.
