Yesterday saw two NLD clubs face off in the Midlands Final of the National U17 Competition at Broadstreet RFC.
Nottingham Corsairs & Newark made it an all NLD final when beating Oakham & Malvern respectively earlier this month.
It was a repeat of the NLD U17 Final from the beginning of February with Nottingham Corsairs coming out on top to be crowned Midlands Champions, beating their local rivals 38-11.
It was a huge achievement to have two NLD clubs in the Midlands Cup Final and Nottingham Corsairs will progress to the National Semi Final on 19th April. They will face the North Champions Caldy RFC who overcame Doncaster RFC to book a place in the game at Preston Grasshoppers.
Derby RFC the other NLD team competing on Midlands Finals Day were Runners Up in the Bowl losing 3-17 to Moseley RFC.
NLD wish Corsairs the very best of luck as they progress to the next round of the competition, their sights no doubt set on a trip to Twickenham for the National Final on 3rd May.
