NLD U20’s Ready to Impress

The NLD U20’s team, coaching led by Nic Corrigan and supported by Matt Derbyshire, Jon Welham and managed by Graeme Gunn, have had over 50 players training at their first training session with 14 different clubs and universities represented. The training sessions have taken place at West Bridgford RFC, Ilkeston RFC, Nottingham Trent and Nottingham Universities, ahead of their first game on 11th February against Leicestershire at Ashby RFC (kick off 2:30pm).

Their other games consist of 25th February against Oxfordshire at Chinnor RFC (kick off 2:30pm) and 18th March against Buckinghamshire at Derby RFC (venue TBC – kick off 2:30pm).

The squad will be looking to progress through the stages of the RFU Jason Leonard U20’s County Championship, where the final will be played on Sunday 21st April 2018.

The Manager, Graeme Gun, commented ‘The coaching team have been really impressed with the quality and commitment of the players in the squad so far. As always we would like to thank the clubs and universities for their support of the programme’.
