The NLD U18 headed to Lichfield RFC on Sunday to take on Staffordshire with a depleted squad of 13 following a run of injuries and a few players being unavailable. However the squads spirits were kept high with a team talk from England Rugby World Cup winner Sarah Hunter who gave the girls a team talk prior to the match. They also had the opportunity for some photographs with Sarah and the World Cup itself.
In the first half home side Staffordshire played some excellent rugby and punished any mistakes from the battling NLD squad. A strong NLD scrum kept the pressure on with a feed of ball to the back line. Staffordshire dominated in the second half with NLD defending well, a consolation try and conversion in the last few minutes ensured that the NLD Girls finished strongly.
