On Tuesday 12th May Derbyshire will be hosting the 2015 Derbyshire Clubs Evening.
This evening will give Clubs a real opportunity to gather some information and work together to action plan in the lead up to what will be an incredibly exciting time for Rugby in England. We know that you’ll all be looking forward to a very well earned break over the summer period so this workshop will hopefully allow you all to do a bit of planning prior to the break so that you can hit the ground running when pre-season kicks in.
Date: Tuesday 12th May 2015
Time: 6:00pm – 9:30pm
Venue: Matlock RFC
Food/Refreshments provided, food beforehand and tea and coffee throughout.
Here is the Schedule for the evening, there are 4 workshops designed to give information, allow for discussion between Clubs and hopefully create a strong action plan moving towards the RWC.
Ideally we would like some key members from each club to attend (some or all of the below – around 4 people would be ideal):
- Club Coaching Coordinator
- Club Refereeing Coordinator
- Club Volunteer Coordinator
- DoR/Head Coach
- Events Coordinator/Club Manager/Social Secretary
Please confirm your attendance with Matt Jefferson ([email protected]) by 30th April.
For information: “Getting Ready for Rugby’s Biggest Year”
This evening will work hand-in-hand with a workshop that our two Community Rugby Coaches in Derbyshire (Gary Rudkin and Sean Wright) are going to be looking to deliver with as many Clubs as possible (throughout June, July and August primarily) called “Getting Ready for Rugby’s Biggest Year.” Each Club should have received a poster that gives a bit more information about this but in brief, it’s a 90 minute to 2 hour workshop that aims to help clubs to identify actions to take to ensure that they’re ready to receive any new participants that come our way as a result of the Rugby World Cup.
The CRCs will be contacting Clubs individually to organise these workshops, if possible we would like a group from across the age groups to attend as well as Mini and Junior Chair/Secretary, Safeguarding Officers and Coaching/Refereeing Coordinators as this workshop is focussed on the on-field aspects of the Club’s operations whilst the Clubs evening will be focussed primarily off-field.
