NLD U20s Thriller at Billingham RUFC

NLD U20s commenced their Jason Leonard County Championship campaign with a narrow loss of 18-15 in the last minute of the game to Durham County RFU, leaving only time for the conversion.

The game was hosted by Billingham RUFC on their superb AGP facility and was well-attended by spectators from both home and away who were treated to a fast-paced, evenly matched contest over the course of the 80 minutes.

The NLD Squad of 25 was selected from all of the Three Counties; players from eleven CB Clubs took part from Level 5 to 10.

NLD Head of Representative Rugby, Karl de Groot, said, “The squad represented a real advert on how to run a fully inclusive CB Representative Rugby Squad. Graeme, his coaching team and the players did the CB proud, with a well organised and structured display that they should all feel proud of.”

The guys are in action next on February the 6th at Derby RUFC, against Northumberland with a scheduled Kick Off of 3.00pm. All local supporters will be most welcome.
