Ashbourne Reward Volunteers!

On Sunday March 12th, five members of Ashbourne Rugby Club were presented with hoodies to recognise their work as volunteers. England RFU supported by Mitsubishi are helping Clubs to recognise the volunteers who give up so much time every week.

The five members of the Club will be seen most weeks serving teas, coffees, hot dogs and other refreshments to the parents, players and visiting sides.

They arrive a good hour before all other members to set up including getting the urn ready for the many cups they will serve and again at the end of the sessions they have to put all the goods away, clean up and at Ashbourne this is not a two minute job.

The recipients were:

Back Row ( left to right) Rebecca Wood, Amy Wood and Jo Wood

Front Row ( left to right) David Coackley and Jimmy Smith

Amy Wood comes down to help her mum every Sunday after working for a few hours before earning pocket money.

The day before at the Clubs Annual Luncheon, President Sam Heath presented Steve Jones with an England/ Mitsubishi umbrella to recognise his many years as Club Secretary and a coach.
