NLD National U17 Qualifying Competition

Please see below the draw for the NLD National U17 Qualifying Competition.  Matches will take place on Sunday 13th November 2016 and the team drawn first will have the home advantage.

The matches have been seeded from last year’s NLD U16 competition and therefore the top 4 teams that have entered from 2015-16 will play off for the 4 National Cup & Plate qualifying places available.  The other 4 teams will then play off the 2 National Shield & Bowl places that are available.

Cup & Plate Qualification Matches

Match 1:  Market Rasen v Sleaford
Match 2:  Ashbourne v Melbourne

Winner of each match qualifies for the National Cup Competition.
Runner up of each match qualifies for the National Plate Competition.

Shield & Bowl Qualification Matches

Match 3:  Newark v Paviors
Match 4:  Mansfield v Ilkeston

The winner with the largest margin will qualify for the National Shield Competition.
The winner with the smallest margin will qualify for the National Bowl Competition.

The two losing teams will go onto a waitlist and details given to the National Competition Organisers should any places become available at a later date.

It is important to take note of the National Competition Dates which are below.

Sunday 26th February 2017      Divisional Quarter Final
Sunday 12th March 2017          Divisional Semi Final
Sunday 26th March 2017          Divisional Final
Sunday 9th April 2017               National Semi Final
Sunday 30th April 2017             National Final

Please note that any players taking part MUST be registered on the RFU Game Management System and be eligible to play in the U17 age grade.  U16’s playing up are permitted with the correct playing out of age grade paperwork completed.

If a player does not play in the qualifying competition but wishes to in the National Competition then this is fine but please remember they must be registered onto the GMS by 31st December 2016 in order to be eligible.

Results from the matches should be submitted to Carol Badmin ([email protected]) on the day of the game and the match card completed and emailed as well.
