Buxton RFC continued their unbeaten run this season as they beat Wetherby in the RFU National Junior Vase Semi Final on Saturday to book their place in the Final at Twickenham Stadium.
It was arguably the biggest game in both clubs’ history with two teams unbeaten this season and Wetherby enjoying a 58 match winning streak. But the NLD side came out on top in a tough encounter and prevailed 13 points to 7.
They will now play Old Cranleighans, who currently lead Surrey Division 1, at Twickenham on Saturday 7th May for the National Title.
Pat Leahy commented; ‘This is a fantastic acheivement that will live in the memories of the club and players for a very long time.’
Details of the final will be posted as soon as they have been confirmed.
