NLD Volunteers Lunch with Jason Leonard

NLD were recently given the opportunity by the RFU to nominate worthy volunteers from within the CB to attend a luncheon, hosted by RFU President Jason Leonard, at Twickenham Stadium.

NLD Honorary Secretary & RFU Council Member Tracy Edmundson commented; ‘There are so many worthy volunteers within clubs throughout NLD and this was a fantastic opportunity for us to recognise a small number of them for their hard work.’ darrenburley

The volunteers enjoyed lunch with Jason and a number of other key members of England Rugby including Chief Executive Ian Ritchie and England Women’s Captain Sarah Hunter.  They were then given the opportunity to have a tour of Twickenham Stadium before finishing their day in the England Rugby Museum.

Pete Haskell, who was nominated in the under 40’s category for his excellent work in Girls Rugby within NLD and Mansfield RFC, attended the day with his wife Lyndsey and said; ‘I was humbled to be put forward alongside some fantastic volunteers who have put years of hard work into the game.  It was brilliant to share experiences and gain an insight into other volunteers’ hard work.’
