Tupton RFC proudly opened their brand new clubhouse last weekend after many years of fund raising, planning, building and lots of hard work.
The facility, which cost £475 000, was officially opened by Dennis Sutton who founded the club in 1969.
Local rugby and council dignitaries were also present in a 400-strong crowd to watch the historic event including NLD Honorary President Phil Cass and NLD RFU Council Members Mike Waplington & Tracy Edmundson (pictured).
Tracy commented ‘It is fantastic to be a part of the celebration of the new clubhouse at Tupton, it marks a new era for the game in the local area’.
The day included matches between Tupton’s Second XV and Ripley and a first XV fixture between Derbyshire neighbours Matlock.
Tupton were also presented with their RFU Club Accreditation which aims to help all rugby clubs in England become stronger, more effective, more efficient and more enjoyable places to play rugby.
