NLD U17’s

The NLD U17’s played their final trial game on Sunday against Cheshire, and the Coaches will now convene to select those players who will form the U18’s squad to contest the Midlands Championship next season.

The training sessions and matches have provided lots of opportunities for the players to demonstrate their potential and the Coaches now have the difficult task of reducing the numbers for the final squad.

Those players who have been successful in securing a place in the squad will be informed as soon as possible after the Easter weekend and the announcement will appear on the NLD web site and usual social media sites simultaneously.

There will naturally be a number of disappointed players who do not make the final cut and the Coaching team is keen to reassure those individuals that should take confidence from having made it so far and, for those players who are currently U16’s, understand that there will be another¬†chance next season.

The message here is very much that other opportunities will arise and players should continue to work hard on their skill base, maintain their fitness levels and, above all, continue to enjoy their rugby.

Feedback will be available to unsuccessful players in order to help them understand their areas of strength as well as giving them other skill sets to work on.

The entire NLD Management and Coaching team would like to take this opportunity to thank all the players who have trialled for their enthusiasm and commitment. In addition, we would also like to extend sincere thanks to all the parents and other adults who have provided the players with support and transport in order that they should have every chance to succeed.
