Earlier this month Amber Valley’s Bob Toth visited the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials as part of the England Rugby Volunteer Recognition Scheme.

Nominated for the opportunity by NLD RFU, Bob, a keen horseman alongside his rugby commitments, enjoyed the biggest equestrian event in the country with a day that included full hospitality in the Lakeside Pavilion plus seats for the final day of the competition.  On top of this they also met some of the Gloucester Rugby Players along with England Rugby captain Dylan Hartley.

Bob said, ‘I would like to say thank you to the  MMVRP for the great day out Claire and I had at Badminton. We were greeted on arrival at the hospitality by the organiser and were made to feel special all day long. The food was great, the arena tickets were great, the company, the setting, the service, all were great. Even the sun shone on us.’

NLD Honorary Secretary Tracy Edmundson commented, ‘Hard working volunteers are the key to the success of grassroots clubs and it is brilliant for us to be able to say a small thank you to people who work tirelessly for the love of the game.’

There are lots of different recognition opportunities for volunteers through both England Rugby & NLD RFU.  If you would like to nominate someone from within your club then email their contact details, and a short explanation as to why you are nominating them, to [email protected].
