Rugby has played a significant part of my life since the age of 9, firstly playing rugby at Primary school and then moving onto playing at both School & College – playing for one of the leading Rugby colleges in the UK, Coleg Sir Gar. Upon moving to Worcester University I continued my playing career whilst studying towards a degree in Sports Science. Whilst at Worcester University I began to volunteer and became involved with the Sports Development Industry. Upon leaving university I was lucky enough to gain a position with Worcester City Council Sports Development team, before moving onto Worcestershire Sports Partnership. After spending a few years working within the generic Sports Development environment I moved up to Lincolnshire and eventually to the position with the Rugby Football Union.
A former club player at various clubs and levels and representative player, I can now be found refereeing as a volunteer referee for the Notts, Lincs & Derbys Referees Society, whilst also being the Head Coach of the NLD U16 Development Squad. I am married to my wife Michelle, and have two wonderful daughters Ffion & Sophia – who certainly keep me on my toes.
My role as Rugby Development Officer allows me to work with numerous exceptional volunteers and clubs across Lincolnshire, whilst also managing the delivery team of Community Rugby Coaches, John Rouse (North) & Nathan Smith (South). Aside from Rugby, my other sporting interests are Cycling, Cricket, Golf & Badminton. I also have a passion for fine Red Wine.
The team across Lincolnshire are very keen to help promote and develop the game throughout Lincolnshire so please contact us at any time and we will do our very best to help.
