NLD have 4 players through to the England Under 16 Final Trial - Training Squad that meet this coming weekend at Broadstreet RFC.
A total of 40 players from England are at the weekend with an England 'A' and 'B' squad being selected from this group of players.
Our players are:- Jared Parkinson from Derby RFC and Derbyshire Prop
James Thraves from Derby RFC and Derbyshire Prop
Morgan Robinson from Newark RFC and Nottinghamshire Lock
Harry Wells from Deepings RFC and Lincolnshire Lock
Well done to each of these players who have worked extremely hard to progress this far.
These players have played for the Midlands at Under 16 along with Tom Roberts.
To have 5 players in the Midlands squad and 4 in the England squad is an outstanding achievement.
Our thanks are due to the NLD U.16 Manager Debbie Byrne, Head Coach Mick Kemp plus the coaching team of James Offer and Scott Johnson for enabling these players to progress thus far.
Our thanks are also due to the parents and those supporting all the players in the NLD Under 16 squad through out the past year. NLD relies on this continued adult support to transport players to all the training sessions and matches. Managing the individual player throughout in trying to prevent overplaying and injury is also a very difficult juggling act to control successfully. Thank you to you all.
